The purpose of Friends of Greenwich Crew is to promote and enrich the student-athlete's team experience by providing a supportive environment through the involvement of parents and other members of the community. Parents and other supportive adults provide food and assist with the coordination of regattas and other competitive rowing events; chaperone and assist in the coordination of overnight trips, organize team banquets; provide scholarships in cases of financial need; and facilitate communication between and among student-athletes, coaches, parents, school staff, and providers of crew facilities and equipment. Friends of Greenwich Crew is committed to providing financial support to student-athletes interested in participating in Greenwich Crew whose financial circumstances represent significant challenges to their participation. Friends of Greenwich Crew is limited by the scholarship funds available and therefore each scholarship award is thoughtfully considered.
